Rabbeinu Yosef Kahanaplon ztz"l:

Recognized for his exceptional piety and deep Torah scholarship, he was a distinguished Novardok scholar who taught in Warsaw and was the father-in-law of the Steipler Gaon, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky. He perished during the Holocaust, having been deported from the Warsaw Ghetto. Niftar on 5 Tammuz 5703 (1943); may the memory and merit of Rabbeinu Yosef Kahanaplon ztz"l protect us all. Zechuso yagen aleinu!
